What does wellness mean to you?

For us it is a sense of overall well-being, body, mind and soul, an absence of disease, illness or stress. For those who have mental health issues wellness can also mean feeling a sense of purpose in life, being actively involved in work life and personal life, having hobbies that are satisfying, finding happiness, having joyful relationships, and having a healthy body and living environment. We believe that the eight dimensions of wellness encompasses all of this and by achieving balance across the eight, you can improve your overall quality of life and optimise your health.

We understand that our wellness is a combination of eight core dimensions, and have developed a unique programme that focuses on these dimensions:

Emotional

When you are emotionally well, you have a positive attitude, high self-esteem, a strong sense of self, and the ability to recognise & share a wide range of feelings with others in a constructive way you find it easy to cope with life and build successful relationships.

Physical

To achieve physical wellbeing, you need to take care of your body for optimal health and functioning. Eat healthy foods, exercise get adequate sleep every night and avoid the bad habits of things in excess.

Spiritual

Spiritual wellbeing has to do with finding meaning in life events, understanding your life’s purpose and live a life that reflects your values and beliefs.

Environmental

To be environmentally well you need to be aware of the interactions between the environment, community and yourself and behave in ways that care for each of these responsibly. You should spend most of your time in a place that sooth you and with people that support you.

Social

When you’ve achieved social wellbeing, you will have built strong relationships with others, dealt with conflict appropriately, and connected to a positive social network.

Intellectual

When you want to learn, are willing to learn, are open to new ideas, make time to be creative, to think critically, and seek out new challenges then you ate stimulated and intellectually well.

Occupational

Seek to have a career that is interesting, enjoyable, meaningful and that contributes to the larger society and be happy with your progress.

Financial

You don’t need to be rich to achieve financial health; you need to live within your means and learn to manage your finances for the short and long term and aim to have enough to be happy.

The 8 Wise Programme

The 8 Wise programme is a unique Therapeutic Life Coaching programme, that combines the concepts of counselling and coaching for a more effective model for improving your wellness and wellbeing, as well as managing your stress related issues and mental health.

On our unique programme you will:
• Assess yourself against each dimension
• Set realistic goals and create an action plan for improving your wellness and wellbeing
• Develop the tools to manage your stress levels
• Prevent long term mental health issues from occurring
